USA Dominates Serbia in Opening Game
Bogdanović, Gilgeous-Alexander Lead Scoring for United States
The United States men's basketball team kicked off their defense of their Olympic gold medal with a convincing 110-84 victory over Serbia on Sunday at the Paris Games. Despite Serbia taking an early 4-0 lead, the United States rallied behind a dunk by flag-bearer Jayson Tatum and went on to outscore their opponents 31-17 in the second quarter to take a double-digit lead into halftime.
Bogdan Bogdanović of the Atlanta Hawks and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder led the scoring for the United States, both finishing with 20 points. Nikola Jokić, the reigning NBA MVP, paced Serbia with 15 points.
